Paul F. Paine, President Fort Worth South, Inc., Speaker for SAME Fort Worth’s April 2013 Meeting: Urban Revitalization – Making the Old New Again.

Fort Worth South, Inc. (FWSI) is a private, member funded, 501(c)4 non-profit redevelopment organization created in 1996 by community leaders dedicated to revitalizing the Fort Worth Medical District and the Near Southside of Fort Worth.  Today the Near Southside Medical District is an eclectic and diverse mixed-use community and the second largest employment center in Tarrant County, employing approximately 30,000 people.  The economic anchors for the district are the five major hospitals, numerous health care providers, and various industries, restaurants, and small businesses that continue to prosper.

Paul will discuss his role in leading the revitalization of this once blighted part of Fort Worth to over $2.0 Billion invested in new construction, renovations of older buildings, and improvements to streets and public utilities.

Paul is a retired Navy Captain with over 3,400 hours in various tactical fighter jets. He commanded Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Carswell Field from 2002 – 2004, commanded an F-14 Tomcat Squadron, and is a “Topgun” graduate.
