The Mill Creek Drainage Relief Tunnel consists of two miles of 35-foot diameter tunnel and three miles of 30-foot diameter tunnel. The tunnel will be mined in the Austin Chalk formation between 70 and 150 feet below the surface and will outfall to White Rock Creek. Once complete, the tunnel will provide drainage relief for the Mill Creek, Peaks Branch and State Thomas areas of Dallas.
