Program: Assistance to Transitioning Veterans through Training and Employment Opportunities in Land Surveying
Speaker: Jeff McCormack
Join SAME Fort Worth for a look at the coordinated efforts of the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying, the Texas Veterans Commission, Lone Star College, the University of Texas HUB Systems Office, and registered land surveyors who assist military veterans as they transition to civilian life. Jeff McCormack, an experienced land surveyor, is a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is professional whose presentation on his recent experiences in providing veterans with the schooling and practical experience they need is certain to entertain and inspire you.
For each of the next four years, the U.S. Armed Forces will release almost 250,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines to civilian life. Most will need assistance in learning new skills and finding meaningful employment.
Fortunately, some veterans enter a welcoming environment in Texas, where the demand for surveyors exceeds the supply. Hear how one person can make a difference!
