SPEAKER: Hattie Williams, Small Business Procurement Specialist from VISN 17 will join us to discuss the VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network.

Hattie Williams is a Procurement Analyst and Small Business Advocate for the Department of Veterans Affairs and brings to us more than twenty years of sound guidance and technical directions regarding contracting with the Department of Veteran Affairs-NCO 17. Mrs. Williams monitors, develops, counsels, and maintains acquisition related small business training. She also conducts outreach events on small business practices, as well as provide information to small business firms on “How to do Business,” with the NCO 17- Federal Government.

Mrs. Williams’ previous positions with the Department of Veterans Affairs includes, Branch Chief for Construction, Leasing, Prosthetics, Pharmacy, IT, Supplies & Services, and Healthcare Resources Medical teams, for Network Contracting Office 17 – VISN 17.

Mrs. Williams’ has immediate family members who has/currently serving in the Navy, Air Force, Marines and Army. Mrs. Williams earned her master’s degrees in Finance and Business Management and her Bachelor of Arts & Science in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University (DBU).

Moreover, Ms. Williams has received several Small Business Liaison’ of the year awards, as well as commendations from the Office of the Secretary for Veterans Affairs in Washington DC, for her outstanding performance in support of Veteran Owned & Small Businesses.

With the intent of making it easier on sustaining members to coordinate the month/ date they will be able to give their annual company elevator pitch, the SAME Ft Worth Chapter will open up a new Eventbrite sign up page located on the Chapter webpage.  The number of speaking firms per month will be limited to 5 so once “tickets” are sold out firms will need to choose another open month.

Bonus: As a new feature, speaking firms will have the option to purchase a $50 donation raffle gift card in advance through Eventbrite rather than bringing their own as has been the tradition. The Ft. Worth Post will have the gift cards ready for that event when the speaker arrives.  Of course if you’d like to bring your own gift card, that is still ok too!
