2021 Scholarship Recipients

In 2021, SAME Fort Worth awarded 23 students over $30,000 Scholarship support. Here are a few of the recipients.


Hannah Smith, attending the University of Texas at Austin, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering. After graduation, Hannah hopes to research water quality in low-income areas as well as third world countries.


William Wischnewsky, attending the University of North Georgia, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, and is an active ROTC member. William wants to commission as a 2nd LT in the United States Medical Service Officer on Active Duty. He is seeking to use his Kinesiology degree to be a College Football Strength and Conditioning Coach. He hopes after coaching a College Football team for many years, he can work his way up to an NFL team.


Holt Chambers, attending Texas A&M University, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Holt plans to finish his degree with a coastal engineering focus. After graduating, he plans on attending graduate school for coastal engineering and then hopes to work for an engineering firm that focuses on mitigating effects and designing structure for extreme weather such as storms, flooding, hurricanes, and sea level rise, specifically due to climate change.


Elyse Simmons, attending UT Health Science Center – Houston Cizik School of Nursing, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduation, Elyse plans on becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. After gaining experience, she wants to go back to school and become a nurse practitioner.


Sabrina Ragsdale, attending Keiser University, pursing a Doctor of Chiropractic. Sabrina’s plan for her Doctorate of Chiropractic medical degree is to provide care to the community and serve her country to the best of her abilities and knowledge.


Jacob Morgan, attending Rice University, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Jacob plans on using his civil engineering degree and engineering leadership certificate to research and engineer solutions to solve never-before-seen problems in our evolving world.


Caleb Hughes, attending the University of Texas at Arlington, pursing a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, Caleb plans to pursue a career in the field of automotive engineering, specifically in design or performance.


John Squire, attending the University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Engineering. John plans on going into the medical field to utilize his engineering and technology skills and apply them to the field of medicine. He also plans to serve in the military as a physician.


Angela Riera, attending the University of Texas at Austin, pursing a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Accounting. After graduation, Angela plans to complete her Master degree and enter into Public Accounting. She also plans on earning her CPA.
